Encapsulated O-rings (tetrafluoroethylene covering rings): organically combines the elasticity and sealing properties of rubber with the chemical resistance of Teflon. It is made of a silicone or fluorine rubber inner core and relatively thin Teflon FEP (polyfluorinated ethylene propylene) or Teflon PFA (soluble polytetrafluoroethylene) outer covering combination, this kind of rubber Teflon sealing ring has excellent sealing performance.

Rubber O-rings are easy to wear, chemically resistant and gas-permeable. Pure O-rings have higher hardness and can resist compression but have poor elasticity. The outer covering FEP/TefloPFA O-ring has good swelling resistance and chemical stability (unless it is corroded by alkali metals, fluorine and some halides at high temperatures). It has good elasticity near the rubber O-ring. FEP / The friction coefficient of PFA is very small (only 0.1~0.2), and it has excellent gas permeability resistance. These properties make the envelope ring seal ring can be really used in harsh environments.

Therefore, coated O-rings can replace expensive perfluororubber O-rings.

Function: The combination of seamless and dense and uniform FEP/PFA outer coating and rubber inner core makes the sealing ring of the covering ring maintain consistent sealing performance. The elasticity and compression of each point on the sealing ring are uniform, and after continuous pressure It can still be installed and used repeatedly under the action. As the pressure of the medium increases, the entire sealing ring is compressed. The enveloping ring seal is like a high-viscosity liquid, which transmits the pressure acting on it in all directions without reducing it.

Material: FEP and PFA are similar in nature, but PFA has better high temperature resistance than FEP.

Applicable temperature range:

FEP shell: -60℃~205℃, can be used for a short time at 260℃ high temperature

PFA shell: -60℃~260℃ can be used for a short time under 300℃ high temperature

Compared with any other O-ring made of rubber or pure Teflon, the enveloping ring seal has incomparable sealing performance and long life, especially used in harsh media.

It has excellent resistance to chemical corrosion. Under normal operating temperature, FEP/ PFA is only eroded by a few chemicals. Here, only the incompatible chemicals are listed, such as some strong metal bases and fluorine. And some halides are not compatible with FEP/PFA. In addition to the chemicals mentioned, the envelope is usually chemically inert to other chemicals.
